Find out about the team behind Pawfectly Behaved Pets. Yes, that includes the dogs!
My name is Aimee Gardiner and I am an experienced animal trainer. I have 14 years experience training animals. I have trained many species of animals (including dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, guinea pigs and parrots just to name a few) using my positive and friendly training methods to great success.
Since then I have specialised in canine behaviour, using the latest scientific learning techniques to train dogs. I use positive reinforcement and positive training techniques. I keep up to date with all the latest research and still attend training workships and events in order to get the latest, up-to-date information about behaviour and training.
I have been travelling the UK and have lived in some beautiful places. From the rustic Lake District to the beautiful south coast of Cornwall, I have been taking my positive methods to every corner of the country as well as listening to and learning from people who share my ethos and training techniques. I have now returned to my beloved Birmingham with a wealth of knowledge and experience in Animal Behaviour and Training.
I now have people from all over the UK come to train with me, as my training methods are well known and very sucessful. I have dealt with many behaviour and training issues from aggression to pulling on the lead to specialist training such as ringcraft and gundog work.
In my spare time I train and compete with my own dogs, my Flat Coated Retrievers. They have been trained with the same positive methods that I use with every animal I train, to great success.
I have shown them at conformation shows with excellent results (including two Crufts first places). I now also compete in Gundog Working Tests (simulated shoot days using canvas dummies). These tests are marked on obedience and control as well as the dogs natural instincts. I have working test places (including at the Flatcoated Retriever Society's inter-area team challenge) and a Show Gundog Working Certificate.
I have also dabbled in obedience, agility, heelwork to music and we are currently training to compete in Rally Obedience. Both my dogs have their Good Citizens Dog Scheme awards.
When we are not all out training they can be found relaxing on my feet, sleeping on the sofa or in my flowerpots!

I also tutor in my spare time, teaching Level 3 Dog Grooming. This includes teaching the theory behind grooming as well as the practical skills needed to be a great dog groomer.
I am also a trustee and Head of Training and Behaviour for Assistance Dog Council, a charity set up to help people who rely on assistance dogs, especially when it comes to liasing with service providers about their rights and responsibilities.
I am now a Canine Training Professional with the Pet Professional Guild: British Isles, an organisation dedicated to positive, force-free methods of training. This means that we don't use any force, adversive or fear based methods in our training.
I am a provisional member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC), which means I have completed the necessary academic requirements to degree level or higher, and are gaining the practical experience necessary for full membership.
Our training methods are completely reward based and positive. We don't use any negative training methods at all so rest assured you will not feel uncomfortable whilst training with us.
Based in scientific theories and the natural behaviour of your pet's species, our training is easy to understand and will help you both communicate with each other more effectively.
Our goal is to help you when you need help with your pet's behaviour and training. We are not aiming to dampen your dogs personality or stop their little quirks that makes them unique. Our aim is to work with you and your pets to sort out any problems you may be having in a stress-free and positive way. We also want lasting results for you, so you can continue to enjoy your pet and their behaviour for years to come.
We are very kind, friendly and completely non-judgemental.
Jack is my show dog and my best friend. Excellent with puppies and loves to show off all the tricks he knows. Jack is now retired from showing and training.
Unfortunately my Jack passed away in April 2020. Gone from my life but never from my heart
Edward (Teddy) is a very active flatcoat. He show, competes in working tests and has won awards.
Most of all he's just a silly boy who loves fetch
Lyra is the baby. Shes small and sweet and loves to play with everybody. She is in training to compete in obreedience and rally obedience
